Virtual or in person options are both available. Therapy is a process where individuals and/or families work through upsetting or painful experiences in a safe and confidential environment. Many times we feel like no on would understand what we are feelings or thinking. Talking with a Therapist can help you begin to understand what you are feelings and why you might be feeling that way. My goal for therapy is for individuals to feel safe and secure to talk about the hard things in life and to find a new way of experiencing this life. I also am training in the Enneagram and would love to include that in the therapy process as clients are interested.
At such a time during a divorce process, the Court or a party can determine that a Custody Evaluation needs to be completed to assist the Court in making the best decision for a child(ren). This is a timely process that requires cooperation from all parties. This process includes obtaining a Court Order. Should you, your attorney or the Court determine that I would conduct the Custody Evaluation, please contact me so that I can make sure the Order is written to cover all the basis. There will be forms to complete and appointments to schedule. Once the order is received by my office, I will send out packets with all necessary information and forms. All parties will meet with me separately and on different days. As part of this process, I do conduct a home visit to all possible homes. There is a retainer required prior to the scheduling of any appointments. The Court Order should detail the percentage that each party is required to pay.
Many times there are circumstances that require for visitation to be supervised. I am a non-judgmental party who will assist in determining when a parent/child relationship is at a safe point for the parties to resume or begin time together unsupervised. Supervision can be ordered for a number of reasons. My goal is to create a safe environment for the parent and child to begin working together to grow their relationship in a healthy manner. I take this role very seriously. I am not a therapist in this role but a third party that observes the growing of a relationship.
Reunification Therapy is a specialty that requires for the professional to have training in high conflict families. This is not psychotherapy or what individuals see as therapy. It is a specialized, goal-oriented intervention aimed at repairing damaged parent-child bonds. This is a process that helps to determine if a parent and child can and should reunify and report as such to the Court. This is a long process and requires a commitment from all parties. There are rules that all parties must adhere to for this therapy to be successful. This is generally not covered by insurance . The joint goal in this process is to reunite families when it is in the best interest of the parent and the child.
Looking for a person to help you on your journey. Needing someone in your corner to cheer you on, yet hold you accountable to the goals you have made. I am the coach for you. I am a straight shooter. Coaching is different from therapy as coaching focuses on personal growth, future goal-setting and action planning for functional individuals. Coaching is not covered by insurance.
I provide Coparent Coaching, Relationship Coaching, Recovery Coaching as well as Life Coaching.
If you have found yourself in trouble with the law, it is likely that you will be encouraged or required to complete a Court Ordered Evaluation either for Substance Abuse or for Mental Health concerns. This type of appointment is usually scheduled for one and a half hours. There is also a fee for the completed report. The total fee is collected at the time of the appointment. These evaluations are not covered by insurance.
Mediation is a part of the divorce process. Most often the Court will require Mediation prior to appearances in Court to give the parties the opportunity to maintain the power to determine how everything is divided, including parenting time. This is can be done in one day or can be done over a few appointments. Working together with a Mediator allows each voice to be heard and for the parties to make these hard decisions in the way that works best for their family instead of allowing the Court to make these decisions for you. Many times people think that Mediation is a waste of time, but if you are working with the right Mediator, the divorce process can be less conflictual and allow for a foundation of working together for the children for the future. Mediation can be done with or without attorneys, so parties can share the cost of Mediation instead of each paying for an attorney AND still sharing the cost of a Mediator. Please reach out with questions.
