Who is Evie…
Evelyn Jacobs, LCSW
My name is Evelyn but everyone who knows me or comes to know me calls me Evie. I came to the realization at a very young age that helping others was my calling and gift. My calling was validated for me during my internships for my undergraduate degree at Indiana Wesleyan University. I have been working in the field of Mental Health since 1996. I graduated from IU School of Social Work in 2001 with my Masters in Social Work. I have witnessed firsthand the brokenness that depression and other mental health issues can cause for individuals and their families. Clients who have worked with me consistently share that my realness and honesty are both refreshing and beneficial in their recovery process. I practice a life of gratitude and encourages my clients to find the joy in any given situation.
I married my husband in 1999, joining our families and adding to it. Second only to my faith, family is my top priority. I live out my priorities in all that I do. I often joke that my children and now grandchildren provide enough material for me to move to Vegas and be a stand up comedian. Don’t worry though, Indiana is my home and I am not going anywhere. My children and grandchildren are the light in my life and cause me to smile even when there is nothing else to smile about.
